Overview
Velocity, O’Reilly Media’s successful Web Performance and Operations conference is coming to Europe for the first time! On 8 and 9 November, an international crowd of site reliability experts will converge at the Maritim proArte hotel in Berlin to share their knowledge about making websites scalable, reliable and fast.

Attendees can look forward to two exciting conference days packed with excellent keynote speakers and intensive tutorials. Program chairs Steve Souders (Google) and John Allspaw (etsy.com) have invited experts like Theo Schlossnagle (OmniTI) and Jeff Veen (Typekit) to present their success stories and answer your toughest questions on Ajax, CSS, JavaScript, mobile performance and more. Topics are including:

-    How to effectively deploy to 500 or more servers at record speed
-    Best practices for sharding from the Tumblr team
-    How to make web performance and operations a company-wide mindset
-    The newest advances for Google Chrome
-    Essential monitoring and KPI tools and techniques
-    Tips for surviving a DDoS attack

What are the latest innovations impacting web development and optimisation in Europe? Key players like Ivo Teel (SPIL GAMES), Mike Shaver (Mozilla Firefox), Jon Jenkins (Amazon.com), Schlomo Schapiro (ImmobilienScout24) and many more will present their ideas and tools and discuss the latest trends taking web performance and operations to the next level. Jeff Veen, CEO of Typekit, points out: "I've been working on the design and user experience of web sites for 15 years, and I keep coming back to this: performance and reliability is the bedrock for building products people love. The diversity of speakers at Velocity Europe is a testament to how important speed at scale has become."

After four sold-out Velocity conferences in the USA and China, the sights are now set on Europe. Steve Souders has high expectations of the first Velocity Europe: “The need for a faster Internet, and the knowledge for making it faster, is strong in Europe as evidenced by the number of European speakers dominating the program. This gathering will highlight performance best practices that transcend geographic boundaries, as well as the case studies and tips that are most relevant to this region. I hope to see you there!”

Registration is now open! For more information about Velocity Europe, visit http://velocityconf.com/velocityeu/ and get your ticket at the best price until Sep 28.

Velocity Europe is sponsored by Keynote, Citrix Systems, Apica, CDNetworks, Dyn, dynaTrace, ImmobilienScout24.
