Feedback:

My experience at Millennium was horrible. The office staff are rude and unhelpful all the time as many reviews mention. Any maintenance requests will take weeks to complete and they will not give you any notification of what’s going on. Their communication is terrible, and they will often send emails with information giving very late notice if at all for things like entering the apartment or move out inspections. Speaking of entering the apartment, these people love invading your private space and entering apartments without knocking or giving any notice which is in direct violation of Indiana renter's laws. Look somewhere else if you want friendlier and more competent people to rent from.

Feedback:

I don’t ever take the time to leave reviews anywhere, so I mean this. I rented here because the price seemed great for what you get and for some reason I didn’t look thoroughly enough into all of these reviews. The management is ridiculous in everything they charge for, they take forever to get to any maintenance you request, and charge you for simply breathing their air whenever they can. I’ve had bad luck in the past with landlords, but this is supposed to be a professional company and I honestly feel robbed of my money. Will not be renting here again and you shouldn’t either if you have the option.

Feedback:

If I could give them less stars I would, working with their office is a constant headache. For an office setting they have terrible communication skills and are very misleading. If not for the unprofessionalism within the office it’s a good place to stay.

Feedback:

My wife and I lived here while she was in grad school at IU. We went there because it was cheap but could not stay there more than a year. Firstly, this area is not great. It's very difficult to get into town or campus because of traffic, and my car was broken into while I lived there and they left the door open which sucked since it rained that night. Anyway, when we moved in we brought our own washer and dryer with us so they removed the rental units. When I went to hook up my dryer I realized there was no ducting in the wall for the dryer lint. They had been just pumping lint into the wall instead of venting it outside. HUGE fire hazard. Everything that broke in this place I had to fix myself because maintenance would not do it. It got to the point where I would not even ask them anymore. The bathroom was in terrible shape when we got it and I marked everything on the inspection sheet. Including how the bathtub was not sealed (I ended up sealing it myself) and that it was not in good shape. Before we moved out we scrubbed that tub VERY thoroughly. It was cleaner than it was when we moved in. A lot of time was spent making that place immaculate because we wanted our deposit back. So what did they do? Charge us because they said they had to "clean" the tub. Of all the things to charge us for that was the most ridiculous honestly. This place just sucks and the management is incompetent. I have pretty low standards honestly and I don't give many bad reviews. The place we lived in before this had bed bugs and I still think it was better.

Feedback:

Absolutely terrible place. They consider these apartment to be “nice” apartments. Complete trash. Don’t waste your time or your money on this place. Worst experience in my life. Management is absolutely awful as well.

Feedback:

Unprofessional, over-priced and not accommodating. Will be going on 3 years (and after this lease is up I'm gone), had an issue with new apartment location and management wouldn't help make it work for us. "You signed a leased and there's nothing we can do" is not what you want to hear when you've handed over 30k during your residency. Avoid at all costs.

Feedback:

I've lived here since 2002, back with the original management, and it has only gone downhill ever since. After the first management change, I had a cellphone stolen out of one of the downstairs lockers in the clubhouse, and management had video footage of the underage culprits, but all they did was cancel their families' keycard access to the clubhouse facilities and my phone was never returned. Most recently, my car was towed for parking in a handicapped spot even though the person who had used that spot had moved out years earlier and others beside myself were regularly using that spot without a handicapped license or sticker. They did not give any advance warning, but did manage to send a tenant-wide text two weeks later stating that their policy is to tow all unauthorized vehicles in handicapped zones.Gee, thanks for warning. The maintenance and front office staff are fine; the management, however, are non-local bureaucrats who only care about saving money and covering their asses.I finally had enough and had to move out.

Feedback:

Take pictures before and after you move in. I lived here 2 years in 2 different units. Apartments and amenities are nice as they should be for the monthly rent. The issues I had where entirely with an uncaring, lying, shady management staff. During my first year at the complex, within the first week actually a downspout broke and flooded my kitchen. Maintenance was as quick as possible at resolving the issue, but no condolences from management. Later that year I had a vintage bike stolen directly off my porch, and later my car windows were busted out and $1500 worth of stereo equipment was stolen from my vehicle. After raising concerns with management about an unsafe environment, they simply sent back and email with quotes from the lease stating they were not responsible for stolen items and that they "never" had issues like this before and would have police do more regular patrols through the grounds. Only police that ever came to the property were ones that lived there. Onto the second year in an updated one bedroom. I had no issues while at this residence due to maintenance. The first issue came when I contacted the residence to let them know that my bank had made a mistake with my check and that they would be returning it. They assured me that it would be fine and that I should wait to hear back from the bank after they returned the check. This was even after I offered to write another check or even get a money order in order to make sure my rent was paid by the 3rd of the month, which is the cutoff for them and they start charging late fees. Less than two days later I get an email from the account manager whom i spoke to in person that they received the returned check and would be charging me upwards of $150 in fees. They waived the fees besides a $60 canceled check fee and told me that I should of reached back to them sooner...?? Lastly when I was ready to move out of the complex due to my job moving, I decided to get ahead of the game and asked their leasing agent how I should go about getting my carpets cleaned. I was trying to avoid the properties charge of nearly double what it actually cost to get the carpets cleaned.....I was wrong. The leasing agent referred me to their recommended carpet cleaning company and told me all I had to do was email them the invoice and it would reflect in my final statement. Again after having the carpets cleaned, which the company did a fantastic job at and the carpets looked even better then when i moved into the apartment, I asked a different leasing agent how I should go about avoiding the carpet cleaning charges and was told to turn in my keys and then email the invoice for having the carpets cleaned. It has now almost been two months since I moved out of the apartment and I received my final statement with a charge for $550 for REPLACING the carpet. The one they had just told me to pay to have cleaned! Crazy how additionally the cleaning that was required which would have been only a tiny kitchen and bathroom totaled to be exactly what my security deposit was of $300. Their cleaning crews must be compensated extremely well or have taken an extremely long time to clean less than 200 sq ft of space. All their management team had to say after I had to contact them twice for a response was this "To clarify, per the lease it is routine practice to have the carpets shampooed between every resident. Sometimes the resident will hire to have that service done and provide the receipt or we have it done after move out and charge it to the resident. However, no apartment is on an automatic rotation to have carpets replaced. That determination is made entirely according to the condition of the carpet at move out. Carpet replacement for your apartment totaled $659.31 though the charge to you was at a discounted rate of $549.43 to account for the life span of the carpet." Thanks for sticking in there and reading it all!! I don't mind paying to have carpets replaced, I mind being lied to by your staff and being told to have it cleaned if you are just going to replace it.

Feedback:

Apartment wise? You can't find better in Bloomington for this price. The apartments are very nice, relatively quite, & the amenities are awesome! HOWEVER, management could use some work. They're polite and friendly as long as things are going well, but as soon as something goes wrong, they don't know how to handle the situation. They messed up our move in date and called to tell us we couldn't move in when we were hour 10 into our move from Oklahoma. We had to find a last minute hotel to take us and our dog and didn't get so much as an apology, instead, when I got upset, I was threatened by the manager saying not to get on his bad side because he could make our time at millennium very difficult. Upon moving in, everyone seems friendly enough, but, again, you kind of have to nag them to get matience requests filled. Love the apartments, the management could just be a little more organized and professional. If you move here, I'm sure you'll love it, just make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing.UPDATE: the complex is recently under new management. They get things done a lot faster, but now they’re also way stricter on rules. They love to slide notes under your door saying to do this or clean that or you’ll be charged. So be prepared for that. Also, don’t expect to get all, if any, of your security deposit back. I did the final walk through with the manager, was told they’d have to replace 1 set of blinds but I’d be getting the rest of the security deposit back ($390). I signed off on it and everything and was promised that would be it. Over a month later I got a “final statement of charges” sheet with all these other new charges coming out of our security deposit. It was $70 worth of new charges! I didn’t think that was even legal, but this complex does what it wants so, just be forewarned about that. They Appearantly don’t understand when you tell a person one thing they budget around that and don’t always have the extra money they steal from you. But again, other than management and their fees, great place to live.

Feedback:

Lived in the townhouse portion for almost a year and absolutely hate it. No one picks up their dog poop in the dog areas. My dog ended up getting parvo because of it even though he was fully vaccinated. Now I can't walk my dog without being harassed by one of the employees. Just today my great dane was in the middle of taking his 3rd pile of poop when a man was driving by, stopped and stared, then jumped out and started screaming at me over his poop.. even though my 7 month pregnant butt was in the middle of wobbling over to the trash can where they keep extra poop bags since I used the rest of what I had on his previous pile. The maintenance guys will check the area for poop after you walk away too **few days after I had posted this, the same guy drove by again, stopped, and stared at me the whole time I was walking my dog. He is an older man with light hair, black square frame glasses. He drives a blue Honda CRV license plate number 718TMY. If you are reading this, keep it up and I will file harassment charges. . I also caught a maintenance guy peeping into my living room windows. One of the blinds had fallen down and I had yet to replace it.. that next morning I had a nasty notice on my door about how it is super important that I keep blinds in the windows at all times. I also have an alcoholic 50 yr old neighbor who will make a fuss about everything. And just last week I was awaken at midnight by the neighbor below me banging on my door because his poor couch was wet and accused me of having a leak that caused it. Yes I had a leak and I had put in a work order for it over a week prior to this point. So maintenance was in my house at 1 in the damn morning fixing this leak that they have been putting off.
