24-year-old patient who has never had any major dental problems. After visiting 65 Broadway once or twice, I was told I needed a deep cleaning, which I paid for and had done. After I paid for this, I was told I had a deductible they were not aware of, which I was asked to pay on the spot. I asked to be billed later, but a bill never came, and the charge was never mentioned again.Next time I came in, I was given a regular 6-month cleaning and offered a topical anesthetic, which I’d never needed for a standard cleaning. After a VERY painful start to the cleaning, I accepted the topical ointment and still experienced the most pain I’ve ever had from a regular cleaning. I was told my teeth looked good and that I could come back in 6 months.The dentist came in moments later and told me I may need a deep cleaning (she seemed not to know I’d just had one) and told me I had 4 cavities that should be filled ASAP. I was not shown any x-rays or evidence of cavities, and when I protested more staff was brought in to point out that they had never told me I needed a filling before.I got a second opinion at a trusted dentist who told me I did not need a deep cleaning and had no cavities.
