Feedback:

I called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Sarah, but I was told they are not accepting any insurance if I want to see her. So they expect you to pay $400 from your pocket upfront first. On top of that, I was mentioned there is an extra $150 fee for the questionnaire they ask me, which obviously I have to answer for any doctor visit. Total RIPOFF, and ILLEGAL Practice!!

Took my son there to draw blood for two pages of tests and they can’t find any record that the samples were taken to Labcorp. No record. How do they lose Vials of blood? It’s like we never went. Ridiculous- especially because drawing blood is not a pleasant experience especially for a kid. Where is the paperwork? And like others- our appointment was delayed because the blood tech had issues with another little girl. I wonder if they sent my son’s blood with her samples?

Hello, I made an appointment with Ms. Nazaneen and i was at SFP waiting area 27 min before my appointment After 35 minutes waiting receptionist told me that there is some emergency happened to Nazaneen(didnt given any detail?) so she cannot take me and receptionist offered to me an other nurse practitioner I guess name is Cynthia I said OK I don’t feel good because I got thick bite and fighting infection at the same time. So I wait another half an hour and nobody called my name or check on me so I told receptionist I cannot wait more its been more then an hour and her responses was just OK. By the way i studied medicine in Europe .I worked With patients for 14 years I never treated any patient like that ever. And then I went to Patient First in Sterling they are Amazing, environment is very clean neat employee are very friendly and professional and also they gave my medicine right over there i didnt need to go to any pharmacy I had great experience that’s for sure at Patient First. Great practice. Great staff. Always responsive and patient friendly. I wish our family had come to this practice sooner. It feels good to come to a practice that puts the patients health first.

Phony doctors with no research backed suggestions

Feedback:

After a visit to urgent care and IVs back in December due to some chronic issues, I tried to visit Sterling Family Practice since they seemed to specialize in chronic gastro issues. I couldn't get in until April, but I thought it might be worth it, so I went ahead and waited about 3 months to get in. After paying for a slew of tests, they didn't contact me. After 6 weeks, I called to follow up on results (assuming if I hadn't heard anything, the tests were normal) to learn that the tests did NOT come back normal, and the doctor requested a follow-up visit. Not only did they never call to schedule a follow-up or to tell me my results were abnormal, they insisted they were on the patient portal account I never had, and since they exclusively post on the patient portal and do not call patients, I never knew... it was my fault? When I got one set up, no results were there whatsoever. I called back to let them know, and they then mentioned that the patient portal glitches often, and they've had more than a few patients not receive information. I asked that if there is a known issue with the online portal, why didn't they call? They then read me the wrong phone number (though the number was correct on the portal), and said MAYBE someone did try to call but called the wrong number. It would take another month to get a follow up appointment since they only offer limited appointments on certain days only and take no appointments after 4 pm. As a school teacher, getting off the last weeks of school because no appointments are offered after school or on weekends is a pain, but it's my health, so I felt like I had to do it. When I finally got there, the doctor's treatment was to "realign my chakra" and say prayers over my body... I was flabbergasted and enraged. Afterward, they went over the actual medical results from the labs only to reveal that the abnormalities weren't actually that big of a deal. To be certain, I have spent over $300 for this and have no significant improvements. After waiting for months for appointments, I still have no closure on what's been causing periodic episodes like the one in December that landed me in urgent care. I will not return here, and I wholly recommend steering clear of this place. If a practice wants to focus on wholistic and ancient Chinese medicine rather than more traditional practices, that's fine, but it should be articulated well in advance of the appointment and trying to charge me/my insurance--and it should be clearly and straightforwardly disclosed all over the website.

This is the only practice in the area (as far as I know) that doesn't force you to get all 50 vaccines for your child! We've been coming to this practice for over a year now, and although I dream about a 100% involved and personally concerned pediatrician, this rarely happens. So, slowly but surely we moved forward with our health problems and it's getting much better. We did some really useful tests, besides the blood test that I must say they did a great job at. I hear not many places are successful at taking blood from the one year old baby. Overall, I'm happy and we are staying here.

I have been going for routine checkups and to renew medication for high blood pressure which requires a visit every 6 months. My employer does not provide insurance and out of pocket insurance is really to high so I can not afford it. In the past I have paid out of pocket for all services rendered including tests, at time of visit. This time I also paid 100 dollars out of pocket. In the past a paper with results was mailed to my house. Now they want you to access a portal. Fine, technology is evolving I get it. But now I have to pay over a 1000 dollars to a diagnostics lab for simple blood work and urine test. I wish I would have been advised of this when I visited or made the appointment. Because they have my records and no I do not have insurance. In the restaurant business that is called lack of engagement to the guest. A sterile disconnect. Which translates to the patient feeling like he or she does not really matter. Seems like some administrative issues need to be addressed. I offered to pay my fee to the desk attendant and they were not even aware. I knock off 2 stars because of the lack of communication. The medical staff were professional and courteous but the wait was extreme, it took over an hour between waiting room and exam room wait. I like my doctor but unlike before I can not afford a $880.00 blood test.

I have been coming here for over 10 years now. I have had to see many other specialists for my conditions. When most of them gave up on my “complicated”case, the Medical professionals at Sterling Family Practice ALWAYS believed in me and fought FOR me and gave me such hope. They have the perfect balance of western medicine AND integrative medicine. (They have their own laboratory at this location too!)They are worth more than gold at this practice. I thank God for Dr Fletcher and Jessica Scalzo(and everyone that works there because they are all great!).
