I moved into Gill Groups apartments on June 15th, 2019. We were told by our property manager, that the material issues with the apartment would be taken care of the week we moved in. Those included: finishing paint, replacing broken toilet seats, fixing three closet doors that were off the hinges, and shampooing stains out of the carpet. I also reported a HEAVY roach problem to the property manager as well, and junk sitting outside the neighboring unit that was attracting bugs. None of which were ever taken care of. On July 3, 2019 I reported a water leak at my apartment that was completely saturating the floor. There are mildew/stains all over the baseboards and it is causing the floor to have a very pungent smell. It took them 6 days to get out to "fix it", in which they said it was low on freon. They also noticed the outside pipe to my air conditioner was not insulated, and instead of fixing, they said "this is complicated," and left it uninsulated. I repeatedly stopped the maintenance guys outside of my unit and asked them to look at the leak coming from inside the unit. The leaking never stopped, so i again reported it on 08/13/2019, in which it took them an additional 9 days to come out to my unit. Again on 08/24/2019, the maintenance guys were working on the unit next to mine. Apparently they were draining the hot water heater, and ran a hose from it, leading to outside to the drain pipe. Instead of draining outside, it drained into my unit. I called that morning, and they let me sit all weekend with an overflow of water spilling onto my carpet. Nothing has been permanently fixed, and the leaking is nonstop. I have a 3 year old child that has slipped and fallen after walking through this water. This is completely absurd, and the property manager and her "solutions" are beyond unprofessional. I want to live in a safe environment where I'm not worried about slipping, or my child hurting herself because of a leak. WOULD NOT EVER recommend Gill to anybody looking for rentals.
