The Datatech guys really went over the top for us. We had a small connectivity issue and requested their help and they uncovered several other issues that now allow our phone system to operate even better than it did when the initial local communications setup the system. They came out to us on the spot when we were in a time of need and didn’t even rape us on fees! They were quick and efficient and knew how to solve the issues immediately! I had a very bad experience applying for a job at DataTech. I am a young professional with a bit of a bad background. I have two felony convictions and one DUI conviction. I told Chris Lietz, the CEO of DataTech, this in our first interview. He told me he appreciated my honesty and that it wouldn't be a problem. He said his company believes in second chances. Chris called me back in for a second interview where I spoke to more staff members. Again, he and the staff I spoke to led me to believe my record was something that could be worked around and that they were very interested in hiring me. We agreed on my pay and Chris offered me a job which I greatfully accepted. He told me he wanted me to start Friday of the same week if possible to help with a big order of computers that needed assembling. I walked out of that building feeling so accomplished having found an IT firm that was willing to hire me in spite of my troubled past. Chris called me the very next day and said that upon further review of my record he couldn't hire me. I guess background checks not only show items that you were actually convicted of, but also anything else you've ever been charged with. It even showed where a teenage girl got a dating violence restraining order on me which was immediately dropped by her later. I don't understand what the point of concepts like "innocent until proven guilty" even is if employers can still see charges which you were not convicted of. Anyone can be charged with anything, it's then up to the state to satisfy the burden of proof and convict you in a court of law. If the charges are unsubstantiated or dropped for any other reason, or you take the the case to trial and win, you are not guilty of that charge and therefore should not be judged based off of it. It means YOU DIDN'T DO IT. The fact that I disclosed my DUI and two felony convictions to Mr. Lietz only to be tripped up by items I was never convicted of which displayed on a background check is the kind of tripped up backwards thinking that's so wrong with corporate America today. But that is neither here nor there, I understand DataTech has a duty to it's clientele to uphold security standards and that is not why I am disappointed. The point here is that Mr. Lietz demonstrated a remarkable lack of professionalism in handling my situation, considering he founded and runs a successful IT firm. How you can make it this far, Chris, and still not know how to treat an applicant with respect and dignity boggles my mind. You told me that I was hired and then yanked the carpet out from under me and then called me and tried to preach to me about how I'm handling the situation wrong saying "maybe this is your problem". I'm not your kid. Don't practice poor professionalism and then try to criticize me on the basis of a background check. You don't know me, Chris. Oh, and you also did that thing where you race to hang up on someone before they can hang up on you. That's what my 16 year old nephew does when he fights with his girlfriend. Classy move. Thank you for deleberately misleading me and then talking down to me when I was shocked at your lack of professionalism. 1/5 stars

Hoffman Realty LLC recently transitioned to Data Tech’s Versa Live cloud-based IT service. Previously Data Tech managed Hoffman Realty’s on-site server successfully for several years. The transition was scheduled for a Wednesday morning in the middle of a busy work week and I was pretty nervous that we could have an IT outage and not be able to serve our customers. But there was no need to worry, as it went unbelievably smoothly. We switched from our old on-site server to cloud services and were fully up and running in about one hour. Thanks to Kevin Kohrs at Data Tech for his technical knowledge and the background work to make it almost seamless. We love the new cloud-based desktop! My agents now have the same tools at home (or at Starbucks) that they used to have to come to the office to use and this really improves their productivity. Thanks also to Todd Leitz and Scott Dollar for suggesting we make the switch to their cloud services and working with us to configure a custom solution that worked for our company. This is an outstanding IT organization and we highly recommend them!
