Complete lack of knowledge in the care of shrubs. As I write this review in my townhouse in the Goose Creek Condos in Ashburn, VA, I'm watching the landscaper butcher the butterfly bushes and forsythias in my front yard with a hedge trimmer Gone are the free form, graceful branches that would have bloomed next year had he used the correct tool (pruning shears), and carefully and knowledgeably selected branches to thin out away from the windows. Now thanks to the lazy, unskilled hack job with the gas-powered trimmers, I have round shrubs that won't bloom next year and are have the completely incorrect shape for their type. This company is completely unskilled labor. I'm writing a note to our HOA President to encourage this contract to be put out for rebid next year to avoid this low-bid wins, cut everything that's green within an inch of its life. They're not landscapers - that involves artistry and respect for the plants' features. They're bushwhackers.

Point blank: There is not a better landscape design company in the Eastern panhandle. These guys do amazing work, and the owner, Brian, couldn't be a nicer guy. Brightside not only designed all our landscaping, but designed some of the most beautiful stonework I've ever seen. The pergola, stone walkways and patios, and landscaping were all designed to compliment the existing structure and the natural landscape of the property. The other companies we spoke to either did great landscaping, and so-so hardscape, or the reverse. It would have cost us a bit more, not to mention having to coordinate two contractors and two jobs. Brightside is without doubt the way to go - Amazing design, great value, and a a fair and honest owner. What more could you ask for in a landscape company?
