Opening a business is fun, scary and challenging all at one time. I’m a native of East Point and decided to come home! I wanted my business to be in the city where I was raised. The process was seamless and this journey had bumps. From the time I entered the office to inquire about my location Ms. White, Chassity and the entire office has been jewels and truly angels in disguise. I had so many questions and called her so many times that on my end I thought I might soon get on her nerves. In return, Ms. White explained every step thoroughly and assisted in ensuring my application was completed correctly. It’s one thing to have a job, but another to love your job. Ms. White loves her job. I felt like a VIP and Ms. White welcomed my business to East Point. Thank you Ms. White for your patience, words of encouragement and overall wonderful customer service.When Mr. Washington and Lt. Williams came to do my inspection, not only were they thorough they were educational. They walked the facility with very positive and warm attitudes. They were extremely friendly and professional, as well as explaining every step of the way.I returned to get my Certificate of Occupancy and Business License and again Chassity was welcoming with a warm smile and eager to help. One stop shop! Terrance notarized my items and Mr. Swain was extremely nice. The hardest city we have ever worked with. Add a month and 10% to the cost of your project if you do it in East Point.

The permit department causes deliberate and unnecessary delays for contractors and investors that are trying to improve areas of the county. The department is unprofessional, disorganized and provides very poor customer service to people in their waiting area. Brenda White is the supervisor. It is deplorable that this situation is allowed to continue. This is the last project I will ever do in this county.

As former Community President of the Semmes Park community, I wanna say this. This is an excellent community. And I'm going to make a public park available to anyone that wants to use it. Look for 1840 Grove Ave. P.S. I loved Mayor Patsy J. Hilliard.
