I created a great app with Kevin. It still runs to this day after being nearly two years since it was originally coded. The app has traction, everything you could want for a startup. I was given funding offers - it all came down to my own personal motivation to start and build a company. I think there are a lot of founders out there that have a "if you build it they will come" type mentality, but the real sweat comes into building traction and validating your app. When founders don't get their initial traction they blame the developers, when in reality, if they made something simple that people liked it becomes a moot point. Working with a development house can be like a drug, week after week you get hooked on seeing new features until you've pulled all possible resources to make something possible. Feature bloat happens and the constant need to see new features. Kevin understands this, and absolutely does his best to talk you into a scaled down MVP.

I recommend OC WEB KINGS for all of your application needs. They very are knowledgeable and detailed oriented. So far I've been working with OC WEB KINGS for almost two years and I cant say enough good things about the experience.As with any working relationship there will be some unforeseen obstacles that present themselves. That's the nature of the technology business! But Kevin, Vishal, Ian, and the rest of the team at OC WEB KINGS work hard to bridge the gap between technical jargon, the app you've always envisioned, and technologies capabilities. I rarely rate company's but this one went over and beyond. My company was trying to get their site completed since June 1 and had fired 2 seoarate web design companys. I contacted them on a Sunday and they were immediately responsive. They realized I had a deadline and were able to finish the site within 2 weeks the way I wanted the site to look. I am very thankful to have been referred to this company - Over the past 15 years, I have worked with countless local, off-shore, and dedicated teams of developers and, without a doubt, OC Web Kings has been the best experience to date... And, I have plenty of horror stories to know how difficult it can be to find someone reliable and trustworthy.What makes them great? One - they keep their word - If they say they can do something, I can trust they'll figure out whatever it takes to get it done and do it right. On time and within a reasonable budget for the work involved. That's rare. But they've done this repeatedly over the 4 months we've worked together so far.Two - they care about making things great - and they have a good sense of what that means. Their own bar is set high for doing the right thing and knowing what the right thing is in the eyes of a potential user - that's so important and often overlooked by others who simply try to knock out the work but don't have an intuitive sense of consumer tastes and needs.Third - They're smart, fun people to be around. I've always had good, fun, productive meetings with them - They know what they're doing, ask smart questions, and think strategically in ways that give me things to think about when I leave which lead to better choices... even if I didn't agree with them 100% when they first brought it up. They're blunt enough to tell you the truth because they believe in making the best choice for the product and the users - This is probably their most valuable asset as a company because, if you're willing to listen, you will end up with a better product than you would if someone just did exactly what you asked for. Most companies aren't confident enough to risk losing your business to tell you the truth when you're wrong - but the really great ones want to see your product succeed so they won't agree and compromise the overall success of a project. I respect OC Web Kings immensely for this quality.Meet with them once - for fun, meet with 2 other firms. Someone may quote you less (and probably end up charging you more later) but no one in Orange County will do a better job. If you want the best, this is where you'll end up.
