About a month ago my MacBook sustained water damage, which I quickly took to TechKnowledge (they have provided thorough and trustworthy services for me in the past). While they were unfortunately unable to to repair the damage with their Water Restoration services, they provided $50 credit towards Data Transfer for a new computer. What had me most impressed with my latest TechKnowledge experience was Teresa's honesty in regards to my computer. She could have tried to sell me on replacing parts of my macbook ($$$), however she was forthright and shared her honest opinion- being she believed buying a new computer would be my best option. While the news was not so great, I appreciated her care and honesty throughout my experience. FIVE STARS!2017 Review:My experience with TechKnowledge was phenomenal. As expected I was nervous taking my MacBook to a random business I found on Google but was surprised to my relief. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the repair to my computer was fairly priced. I would highly recommend this business for any of your technology needs.

So I'm not a computer engineer, I don't really know much about computers. My macbook pro stopped working last week. When I attempted to start my computer there was a flashing folder with the question mark inside it preventing me to go any further. Naturally I googled computer repair stores near me and Techknowledge had the best reviews so I went there. This guy David Gill, said he could run a diagnostic on it and see whats wrong for $50. I needed my computer fixed so I let him try. Total diagnostic and information back up was going to cost $125 and also if my hard drive was bad then it would cost another $80 to replace it. So I get a call back from a girl and she says the hard drive is fine it seems to be some sort of internal issue and it should be resolved with no extra costs. Then I get an email saying the hard drive is bad and that it was going to cost me another $80 to replace it. I decided to just go in and cut my losses and just get my computer back. After reassuring me that it was a common problem and that they could fix it no problem David then says to me a bunch of big words and how he tried this and that to fix my hard drive. He said the possibility of getting all my images and data from my harddrive would be very unlikely. Seemed as if he was just after my money trying to take advantage of me because I was trying to get my laptop fixed as soon as possible because I am a student and I needed it back badly. So I took my laptop back did about 20 minutes worth of research and found out that this is a common issue and that replacing this part "Hard Drive Cable" would most likely solve the problem. So I purchased it for $9 and installed it in 10 minutes and guess what. My laptop is working perfectly fine again and all my pictures and documents and files are back. Hard drive is just fine only the cable was bad. Like I said before I am not a computer engineer and I have no skills with computers. I youtubed a video to replace that cable and fixed it in 10 minutes. What took David 3 days and not being able to find the problem and try to steal $125 and $80 for a new hard drive I fixed myself. This guy is suppose to be a professional and own a business but could not even fix this simple problem. I can't prove it but I'm pretty sure he was just trying to get my money. Any computer expert out there could have probably fixed this problem just like I did even quicker. He is lucky he got $50 from me. What was a $9 problem he stole $50 from me. I don't know what he did with my laptop. If he even opened it or not or what he did. I gave it to him with the trust he would diagnose a problem for $50 and I guess thats what he did to the best of his capability. Even though it was very very bad. I would suggest he seeks a profession else where, where he actually knows what he is doing. I have never written a review for anything in my life but this guy actually got me to write one so here it is. I would love a refund but I'm sure this review is going to make you so angry you won't give it to me. I do not recommend anyone to ever go to this business unless this guy David no longer works there and they get somebody who actually knows what they are doing. Or better yet just google the problem and youtube it. You can fix anything from youtube now a days.

I was very pleased with their thoroughness, professionalism, and honesty. I was truly expecting to hear of serios issues with my Alienware laptop.
